Squaw Creek Wildlife Refuge at I-29 Exit 79, midway between Omaha and Kansas City,
is a migration route for ducks, snow geese and bald eagles. It includes wetlands, grasslands, croplands as well as some native prairie. It is home to many endangered species and well worth the stop. Take a hike into the wetlands or climb the bluff on the Loess Bluff Trail for a get-back-to-nature break.
